Gunman among six feared dead after rampage in city

A Gunman has gone on the rampage in Plymouth causing a number of fatalities in an attack that sent shockwaves through the city.

It was feared last night that five people were killed before the gunman was reportedly shot dead by police.

A mother and child were reportedly among the victims.

A major incident was declared and residents in the Keyham area of the city were warned to stay indoors as armed police tracked the man.

It is believed the shooting began in a block of flats which may have been linked to the shooter’s family.

Reports said he then went to nearby shops and attacked passers-by.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: “We were called to a serious firearms incident in Biddick Drive in the Keyham area of Plymouth at around 6.10pm.

“Officers and ambulance staff attended. There have been a number of fatalities at the scene and several other casualties are receiving treatment.
