BORIS Johnson's cruel plan to offload desperate refugees fleeing war, famine, and torture to Rwanda sparked disgust last night.
And experts warned the harsh policy will cost a fortune, be totally impractical, and is doomed to failure.
Even Mr. Johnson admitted he expected a legal challenge over the £120million deal with Rwanda.
Asylum seekers who arrive on in dinghies or fridge trucks will be detained, then herded on to one-way flights to east Africa.
The PM also announced the Navy yesterday took over patrolling the Channel in a bid to stop migrants, with £50million of extra funding.
Ex-Home Office official Sir David Normington said of the Rwanda plan: “It's Ms. Powell inhumane, it's morally reprehensible, it's probably unlawful and it may well be unworkable”
Labour called the scheme "unworkable, expensive, and unethical”. And MP Chris Bryant warned the plan will cost more than putting up the refugees in the Ritz hotel.
