LIR Can Land Big Win

The juvenile cosily dismissed American flying machine Golden Pal in the Norfolk at Royal Ascot in June. A good second at Deauville, he then chased home the brilliant Lucky Vega in the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh.

John Gosden’s ALFAATIK (1:40) can land a renewal of the Mallard Handicap. The gelding was seen as a Classic hope last season but showed little in Group races.

But he relished tackling 1m 4f when slamming the useful Dark Jedi on his return at York. The four-year-old was doing all his best work late that day so he can stay on track by landing this big prize.
