‘END CRUELTY TO QUEEN PIGEONS'

EIGHT royal racing pigeons have died on their way to an event.

The tragedy has prompted calls for the Queen to give up the sport for good.

The birds were flown from the royal loft in Sandringham over to South Africa to take part in the biggest race of the year.

But all eight of the pigeons perished while in quarantine.

Animal rights campaigners are calling for The South African Million Dollar pigeon race to be banned because of the number of race deaths.
