Beaches around Britain were deserted yesterday as the UK’s coronavirus death toll hit nearly 10,000.
Fears people would flout the “stay at home” order to enjoy the Easter weekend heatwave by the coast seemed to have been largely unfounded.
Despite police threatening to pounce on sunbathers and others having picnics, seasides were largely quiet.
