Arteta: Odegaard has all the qualities to be captain

THERE was a time when Arsenal looked devoid of any leaders but now, as the search for a new longterm captain continues, it feels like Mikel Arteta suddenly has plenty of options.

A number of players in Arsenal’s young squad have emerged as future leaders.

Alexandre Lacazette, who is captain following the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, has tipped Ben White, AlbertSambi Lokonga, Gabriel and Kieran Tierney as players who could one day wear the arm-band. The list, though, is longer than that. Aaron Ramsdale has impressed since joining last summer and Martin Odegaard is becoming a leader at Arsenal on and off the pitch.
