DONALD TRUMP’S accounting firm has cut ties with the former US president, saying a decade of annual financial statements it prepared can no longer be relied upon. It comes amid ongoing criminal and civil investigations into whether Mr Trump illegally inflated the value of his assets.
Mazars said in a letter to the Trump Organisation — a group of around 500 businesses of which Mr Trump is sole or principal owner — that it could not stand behind statements it had prepared for Mr Trump and his family firm from 2011 to 2020. It advised anyone who had received the documents not to use them when assessing the financial health of the company and the former president.
