The five, known as the first recipients of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Medical Research Institute grants, are Dr. Farah Mustafa (United Arab Emirates University), Prof. Rabih Halwani (University of Sharjah), Dr. Ahmed Abou Tayoun (Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital), Prof. Taleb H. Al-Tel (University of Sharjah), and Dr. Mohammad Ghatas (Al Ain University).
They boosted the number of research grantees from the UAE to 14 from nine in 2019 and which include 85 others from Egypt (13), Canada (12), Jordan and US (seven each), UK (six), India (five), Ireland and Lebanon (three each), France, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Australia (two each), Morocco, Greece, Spain, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, Romania, Pakistan, Malaysia, and China (one each).
