The UAE said on Tuesday that all the COVID-19 vaccines available in the country are very effective in preventing severe symptoms, hospitalisation and reduce the mortality rate.
Dr. Farida Al Hosani, the official spokesperson for the UAE health sector said during a media briefing on the latest developments on COVID-19 that “This is very important to accelerate the pace of recovery and control of COVID-19.”
Al Hosani said, “Despite the confirmation of the spread of mutated strains worldwide, many studies have proven the effectiveness of vaccines in providing the necessary protection against them.”
Authorities urged residents to get vaccinated against the virus as the more people are vaccinated the less chances will be there for the virus to multiply, grow and spread from one person to another.
“The vaccination helps reduce the chances of more mutations and variables,” she said.
Residents were asked to get vaccinated during the national campaign for vaccination against COVID-19 continues.
Authorities said that all individuals aged sixteen and over must ensure that they receive the vaccine to protect themselves and their families and society.
