Cillian to play a new character in follow-up to a horror movie

Cillian Murphy has admitted Peaky Blinders fame still “surprises” him and told how he bagged a movie role from it.

The Cork star, who plays Tommy Shelby in thie hit show, will taken on the part of Emmett in A Quiet Place II – a sequel to the critically acclaimed 2018 horror.

And writer and director John Krasinski said he cast the 45-year-old as the “morally ambiguous” Emmett after he and his actress wife Emily Blunt binge-watched Peaky Blinders.

Murphy said: “Well, first of all, that’s very kind of him to say that, and I’m glad he took the time to watch the show. Yes, it does continue to surprise me.
