ONE game stands above the rest in the career of Munster’s Tommy O’Donnell.
The 33-year-old will hang up his boots in two or three games’ time, depending on whether or not the Reds reach the Rainbow Cup final.
The Cahir man has played 186 times for his province and, had injury not played a part, would have made more than 13 Ireland appearances.
“Some players get the rub of the green and some don’t,” said O’Donnell (right).
The Champions Cup victory over Glasgow on October 22, 2016, is seared into his memory.
“It’s hard not to go past the Axel game, just the raw emotion that was there that week and that day,” he said, recalling the atmosphere in Thomond Park a week after his former teammate and coach Anthony Foley had died suddenly in Paris.
