Hours after a division bench of Chief Justice Pradeep Nandrajog and Justice Bharati Dangre of Bombay High Court dismissed all the Public Interest Litigations (PIL) against the construction of Metro rail car-shed at Aarey, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) started the chopping of trees in the area.
Protestors began gathering at the site pleading them to stop. While some of the petitioners rushed to the spot, Sushant Bali, who also reached the spot said, “Someone please stop this madness.”
