When actor Urmila Matondkar met former congress president Rahul Gandhi in Delhi to start a her career in politics before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, she had said ‘she was here to stay’ but her will lasted only for a few months owing to ‘petty politics’ and ‘infighting’ in Mumbai Congress.
Matondkar sent her resignation to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi but her statement to the media revealed that she didn’t want to be used as a ‘means to fight petty in-house politics’.
