Australia captain Tim Paine has fired back at Ben Stokes after the England all-rounder made comments about David Warner in his new book.
The 28-year-old hit a match-winning innings in the third Ashes Test at Headingley last summer, when defeat looked almost certain for Joe Root’s side.
With England up against it, Stokes scored an unbeaten 135 runs in what is considered one of the greatest innings ever played in Test cricket history.
And Stokes said that comments made by David Warner while he was at the crease helped inspire him to the incredible knock.
“He just wouldn’t shut up for most of my time out there,” he said in his new book On Fire.
