The far-reaching impact of the ongoing pandemic has not spared the country’s US-dollar billionaires as listed by Forbes Magazine as their current number has now been reduced to 16 from the 17 listed among the world’s richest last April.

Based on Forbes’ real-time rankings, self-made real estate and retail tycoon Manuel B. Villar Jr. remains the Philippines’ richest with a fortune of $6.7 billion as of September 1, down from the $7 billion indicated in the list for 2021 released last April.

Coming in next is ports and gaming tycoon Enrique K. Razon Jr. with $5.9 billion from $5 billion followed by the SM Group’s Henry Sy Jr. who rose to third from number 8 as his value rose to $3.6 billion from 42.7 billion.
