Head coach Yeng Guiao sees no hindrance in the contract renewal of Kiefer Ravena and Kevin Alas, the 1-2 backcourt punch of the NLEX Road Warriors.
The two playmakers have expiring three-year deals this year — Alas by the end of August and Ravena on the last day of September. Guiao said he expects the two to stay with NLEX.
“I don’t see any obstacle to their contract renewal. I’m sure gusto din naman nila parehas mag-stay,” said Guiao in a telephone interview Monday with Manila Bulletin.
“Numbers na lang sa tingin ko ang pag-uusapan, konting pencil-pushing na lang yan when it comes to their contract,” added Guiao, referring to the salaries of his top-caliber guards.
The coaching staff and management of NLEX are expected to deliberate on the matter in the coming days.
