If the Congress comes to power in Chhattisgarh, the party will waive farmers' loans and release the bonus pending for their produce for the past two years, party president Rahul Gandhi said here on Saturday.
He addressed three meetings in the State on the last day of campaign for the first phase of polling on November 12.
The Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced many schemes and plans for farmers in the State, where nearly 80% of the population lives in rural areas.
`Within 10 days'
Mr. Gandhi said that within 10 days of coming to power, the party would waive loans and approve the bonus. The Congress has highlighted the promises in its manifesto.
