You can get Covid even after being vaccinated, but the severity will be far lesser, say doctors, and chances of ending up in ICU almost negligible.

With the raging pandemic, it is worrisome that some people are getting affected by Covid-19 even after getting a jab of the vaccination. So what is the basic necessity of the vaccination? To find out the answer, TOI spoke to several experts who emphasised the need for vaccination.

Doctors said that though there is little scope for infection despite vaccination, the chances of severe health complications and death decreases when a vaccinated person gets infected.“If the person who is vaccinated gets infected with Covid19, the virus can’t do much harm to his body compared to the person who is yet to be vaccinated. The patient who already received the jab will only experience cold and slight fever, in most cases his reparatory health will not be affected and risk involved is very less,” says Dr Sanjeev Singh Yadav, national secretary, Indian Medical Association’s Academy of Medical Specialities.
