Bar & peace can't coexist, say Jubilee Hills residents

Residents of Jubilee Hills have raised a strong objection to the mushrooming pubs and commercial establishments in residential localities, particularly on road numbers 10, 45 and 36.

While PILs from 2009 and 2014 are still being heard in the in High Court, recently, individual plot owners filed cases against setting up of bars and commercial establishments. Illegal parking, rash driving, noise pollution, lack of fire safety are the prime concerns.

Jubilee Hills Cooperative Housing Building Society president, Bollineni Ravindranath, said, “We have made several representations to the GHMC regarding proliferating shopping establishments, including pubs. Apart from blocking the road traffic, noise pollution is the biggest issue in the residential locality. Most of the vehicles are parked on the roads in front of these establishments as they don’t have parking.”
