Drawing the government's attention to the crisis in India's newsprint industry and asserting this has deepened due to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, BJP MP Sushil Modi said in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday that the government should scrap the 5% import duty on newsprint to help the beleaguered industry.
In a special mention in the Upper House, Modi said India is the largest importer of newsprint globally and 45% of India's newsprint is sourced from Russia.
