Battle over Juhu beautification work continues

Battle between the BJP and the Shiv Sena over beautification works being carried out near a recently constructed Storm Water Drain (SWD) at Birla Lane leading to the Juhu Chowpaty seems far from over.

Local BJP MLA from Andheri, Ameet Satam, who had last week alleged that Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi had demolished a SWD as a part of beautification works, said that a civic notice served by the BMC ward officer has validated the charge. "The BMC should have itself insisted on permissions being taken as they were aware that an SWD line was recently constructed," said Satam.

A notice served by the assistant municipal commissioner of K west ward last week has stated that the work of demolition of the existing roadside SWD at Birla Lane was started on April 8, without obtaining prior permissions from the BMC.
