Covid Warriors Get E-Help To Fight Blues With Music & Movements

The skin on her face is weathered and her hands wrinkled from the tightly fitted mask and protective kit as this second-year surgical resident spends her days treating Covid-19 patients in her medical college.

Some days, no sooner does she come into her hostel room and remove her gear that she finds herself bolting out on call for a patient suddenly deteriorating. This has been Anainah Patel’s life for the past eight months, trying to navigate her own life while trying to save others’ from being lost. “Life of a medico is anyway stressful and then there are other stressors like studying for exams. Day-to-day ward work of being in close proximity and operating on Covid patients was taking a toll,” says the 26-year-old, realising now, more than ever, her need to turn to the arts to find refuge.
