Mumbai: Diesel price in Mumbai breached the Rs 100mark again on Wednesday, with transporters signalling this will definitely lead to a price hike soon. Petrol rate also broke all records on Tuesday and is at an all-time high of Rs 115.88 per litre —3 paise more than its last record rate on November 3, 2021.
Diesel had raced past Rs 100 in the city earlier on October 9, 2021. Less than a month later, relief in fuel prices brought the prices down, and diesel began retailing around Rs 94. The breather, timed with the recent polls to five states, is over, rued activists.
