And on Wednesday, it was Pawan, who helped the Indian junior team earn a memorable 1-0 win with his heroics in front of the goal against Belgium in the quarterfinals of the Junior Hockey World Cup and set up a semifinal date with Germany on Friday.
Five years ago, the team from Europe had lost in the final of the Junior World Cup in Lucknow against India and although it was a different set of players, the outcome was no different this time around as India’s two goalkeepers – Pawan and Prashant Chauhan – kept out everything that came their way.
