Bhandara: A hospital staff points to the newly-installed smoke detectors, fire extinguishers and fire hose pipe spools along the corridors as he guides team TOI to the Sick Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) of the Bhandara District General Hospital, 60 kms from Nagpur. A fire had left 10 newborns dead at the SNCU on the fateful night of January 9, 2021. A year later, repairs and renovation works are nearing completion at the stricken SNCU located on the first floor of the hospital.
