What sparked your interest in photography? How did your journey begin?
Since childhood, my parents always used to click my photos on a Kodak Film Camera. Back then, I loved being in front of the camera. Slowly as time passed, my interest shifted to seeing the world from the lens of a camera. Around 2010 when I turned 20, I forced my Dad to get a Sony Cybershot DSC-W320. I started randomly clicking pictures of anything and everything. Before I could afford any fancy camera gear, I was using a Samsung Galaxy S2 and then switched to Samsung Galaxy S5. I also had a decent control over photoshop. I still remember the first time when I had used a Canon 6D that belonged to my friend Manan Chheda, for a few weeks. Instantly, I knew that I had to sell my GoPro Hero 4 Black and get a D-SLR at the earliest. Soon, I got myself a Canon 700D with two standard kit lenses.
I used the 700D for 18 months and made the switch to Canon 80D. In less than a year, I switched again to Sony A7RIII, and the rest as they say, is history. All the gear switching cost was self-funded either by my photo assignments or from my job in an accounting and finance firm. Understanding the world through different digital lenses has given me a grounded perspective in my journey as a photographer. I have been supported throughout my journey by people, and them having my back, has also played a major role in where I am today.
