Heading north into the gently rolling north Essex countryside — with the occasional foray into southern Suffolk — you will enjoy unspoilt scenery. Much of the time you’re on singletrack roads, with only the occasional horse rider for company. As you pedal from one shallow valley into the next all you’ll see is grazing livestock and vast golden squares of recently cut cornfields.
