The Italian company has opted for a complete overhaul, bringing both disc brakes and an 11-speed Centaur groupset to the table.
Campagnolo’s Disc Brake Project fell off the radar following a tough year for discs in the pro peloton last year, but now the Italian brand is back with its relaunched disc brake plan. At the same time it announced the redesigned, 11-speed entry-level Centaur groupset.
Two systems
Every element of Campagnolo’s new disc-brake groupsets was designed around the more powerful stoppers. It was a 360° project, which means new disc-specific wheels as well as cranksets.
There are two separate disc-brake systems: H11 is the name given to the higher-end carbon-levered Super Record (mechanical and EPS), Record (mechanical and EPS) and Chorus (mechanical) disc groupsets. Potenza 11 Ergopower, which has aluminium levers, is what Campagnolo calls its mid-range disc offering.
