Scotland and the north will host most of the late-season stage race.
There is a distinctly northern feel to the route of the 2019 Tour of Britain, which was announced last week. Britain’s national tour runs through the second week in September (7-14) starting in Glasgow and finishing in Manchester.
Exact route details are yet to be announced but organiser Sweetspot has promised some exciting uphill finishes in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Kendal and Burton Dassett Country Park.
Said Sweetspot: “This year’s OVO Energy Tour of Britain route has been designed with spectators in mind — from visiting three iconic cities, including uphill finishes that are guaranteed to create drama, to using finishing circuits.”
