WHEN the Celtic View caught up with Neil Lennon last week, his side stared down their return to European football and a potentially tricky trip to Tannadice in the Scottish Premiership.
With nine days between their visit to Rugby Park earlier this month and their UEFA Champions League first qualifying round tie with KR Reykjavik at Celtic Park, the manager was confident but cautious ahead of what he described as a point-proving week for his players.
Five days, two games and seven goals later, and the nine-in-a-row champions returned to form with a bang, dismissing their Icelandic opposition 6-0, and totally dominating Dundee United on their home patch, despite the single-goal margin.
“We had a good performance and result on Tuesday in Europe, and then another good performance and result against Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday,” said Neil Lennon in an exclusive interview with the Celtic View. “We were peppering the goal over the course of the game and we had to be patient for the goal to come.
“In terms of the quality of performance, it was good. It wouldn’t have flattered us if we’d have scored another couple of goals, it would have put the shine on the performance.”
