John Kennedy Greatest Achievement Since Lisbon

In the face of a turbulent season, John Kennedy reckons this year’s domestic sweep is the biggest achievement of the modern era

John Kennedy Greatest Achievement Since Lisbon
WITH the appointment of Neil Lennon in February, John Kennedy stepped up from first-team coach to assistant manager and, alongside goalkeeping coach, Stevie Woods and new first-team coach, Damien Duff, helped the Hoops to secure the unprecedented Treble Treble from the dugout.

For John Kennedy’s money, in the face of a tumultuous season, this year’s haul is biggest of the three.

“It’s a bit surreal at the moment,” said Kennedy. “To achieve one treble, is a great achievement. To achieve a second, is incredible. And to achieve a third, to go to Hampden and repeat what we’ve done over the past two years in the manner in which we did, that just shows the character of the team.

“To come from behind against Hearts, that pays credit to a team who thoroughly deserve this. The most important thing is to think about what this team has achieved, what the players have achieved.

“It’s been testing, but we’ve got a real core of players here that just drive it every day for us. I’ve seen it for a very long time now, I’ve been part of things here for several seasons, and I’ve seen the dynamic of the group and how they operate, and they’re absolutely amazing.
