The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 starts from October 5 onward, and Afghanistan will be out to test themselves against the best teams in the world. It will be a fun ride to see where the Afghans belong on the big stage. Afghanistan failed to qualify for the Asia Cup 2023 Super Fours and will be wanting to bounce from that disappointment. The Afghans need to work on the batting, especially, and find players who can make a difference. Hashmatullah Shahidi will lead Afghanistan. They have some quality players in the mix. Afghanistan, who didn’t play a match post their Asia Cup exit, will feel gutted seeing their warm-up match versus South Africa get abandoned due to rain.
