The Arun Jaitley Stadium located at Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg in New Delhi is the home ground of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Capitals (previously known as Delhi Daredevils). The stadium has been in existence since 1883 and was earlier called the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium since it was near the Kotla fort. It has a capacity of 55,000 and is the second oldest functional international cricket stadium in India, after the Eden Gardens of Kolkata.

In 1983-84, Sunil Gavaskar registered his 29th Test century to equal Don Bradman's long-standing record for most hundreds. In 19992000, Anil Kumble became only the second bowler in history to claim all 10 wickets in an innings in a Test match. In 2005-06, Sachin Tendulkar broke Gavaskar's record for most Test centuries with his 35th Test ton. In 1981, Geoff Boycott surpassed Gary Sobers' world record Test aggregate at this venue.
