Cricket's biggest global franchise tournament, the Indian Premier League, is all set to start from March 31 onwards. 10 teams will battle it out for the coveted trophy. Gujarat Titans are the defending champions, and the Hardik Pandya-led side goes into the tournament as one of the favorites. Over the years, the IPL has witnessed several mega records, and each year we see new milestones being achieved. IPL 2023 will be a spectacle in terms of records, as there is plenty on offer. MAJOR BATTING RECORDS ON OFFER
VIRAT KOHLI: He is the highest scorer in IPL history, having amassed 6624 runs. Kohli, who has been a one-man loyalty ticket for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, has hammered 300-plus runs in the last 13 seasons. Kohli needs 376 runs in IPL 2023 to become the first player to reach a milestone of 7000 runs. Another record Kohli can attain is 50-50-plus IPL scores. He has slammed 44 fifties and five tons. With one more 50-plus score, Kohli can become the second player after David Warner (59) to slam this record. Kohli also needs two centuries to surpass the legendary Chris Gayle (6). Kohli, who has 578 IPL fours, can join Shikhar Dhawan (701) in slamming 600-plus fours alongside David Warner (561).
