Virat Kohli's Top 10 Knocks As Rcb Skipper In The IPL

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli has confirmed that he will be quitting the captaincy of the franchise at the end of this IPL season. Kohli took over the reins of the Bangalore franchise in 2013, from New Zealand legend Daniel Vettori. Although RCB have failed to lift the IPL with Kohli as captain, he has been incredible with the willow for the franchise. As Kohli steps away from RCB leadership, we look back at his Top 10 knocks as Bangalore captain.

113 VS PUNJAB KINGS, IPL 2016

This match in Bengaluru was reduced to just 15 overs. However, it wasn't enough to stop Kohli from slamming an incredible hundred. RCB batted first in the match against PBKS and Kohli bashed 113 off only 50 balls, smashing 12 fours and eight sixes. He featured in a scintillating opening stand of 147 with Chris Gayle, who hit 73 in 32. RCB posted 211 for 3 and throttled Punjab to 120 for 9, winning the contest by 82 runs (D/L) method.

100* VS GUJARAT LIONS, IPL 2016

IPL 2016 was an incredible season for Kohli. He hit four hundreds and amassed 973 runs at an average of over 80. Kohli’s maiden IPL ton came against the now-defunct Gujarat Lions. RCB batted first in the game and Kohli raced away to an unbeaten 100 in 63 balls, hitting 11 fours and a six. He featured in a 121-run stand with KL Rahul (51 off 35) as RCB posed 180 for 2. Kohli’s brilliance went in vain though as the Lions chased down the target by six wickets.
