I Would Put My Life On The Line To Help This Team

Richarlison, how much are you looking forward to tonight’s cup tie under the lights at Goodison?

It’s always special playing in front of our fans and we look forward to the unique atmosphere created in night games at Goodison. This is an important match for us. Everton is a big club and winning silverware should always be our aim. As players, we know what achieving that would mean to our fans and it provides extra motivation. We’re all confident. It’s an important game for all of us and we are focussed.

In recent games, you’ve led the attack as well as started on the wing. What is your preferred position?

It depends on our attack and our midfield and what system the manager wants to use. I prefer to play as a number nine for Brazil but it’s different in the Premier League as some teams set up defensively. I am happy to play anywhere for Everton and I hope the fans know I will always give my all for this team.

On the subject of your work-rate, the statistics for the distance you cover in matches is hugely impressive. How important is that part of your game?
