Everton legend Roy Vernon was honoured at Goodison Park prior to the Arsenal game last month.
In the build-up to kick-off, the former forward’s widow, Norma Vernon, helped unveil Roy’s Everton Giant plaque on Goodison Road.
Vernon was inducted into the Club’s Hall of Fame at the End of Season Awards last May in acknowledgement of his 111 goals in 200 appearances for the Toffees across a successful five-year spell between 1960 and 1965.
