I started racing BMX in 1973. Back in those old school days, BMX bikes were such basic, low-tech machines that we were constantly replacing parts that would break under the load and demand we put on them. The only way to gain strength was to go with heavier and heavier parts, which is somewhat backwards thinking in any racing world. As we know, lighter is faster. But at the same time, stronger is better – right? Over the past 45 years, I have been involved with numerous BMX manufacturers. But until working with Box, I have never been a part of a team of people who are so dedicated to giving riders what they don’t even know they need yet.

Parents and racers will pretty much go to any expense to gain even the smallest advantage, with no guarantee they are getting what they paid for. As an example, parents pay for racing clinics all of the time to get better and faster, but are these a true guarantee that your child will get what you are paying for? The answer is, only if you commit and apply what you’ve learned, will there be tangible results.
