A win at the China Open,her first Super Series title,has given P. V. Sindhu a lot of satisfaction. The win, coming in her third tournament since Rio 2016, proves the point that her focus is firmly on the game despite the hype surrounding her following her silver medal-winning effort at the Olympics.
“A lot of people thought my game will go down after the Olympics success. But, I have proved quite a few of them wrong with this win. It is the result of a lot of hard work,” Sindhu told Sportstar from Fuzhou (China) after beating Sun Yu of China 21-11, 17-21, 21-11 in the women’s singles final.
