FORMER Gloucestershire seamer Liam Norwell says he opted to join Warwickshire in order to have no regrets in his cricketing career.
The 27-year-old paceman joined the Bears on a three-year deal at the end of last season and has been training with Warwickshire since November, with fellow seamer Craig Miles making the same move from Gloucestershire.
Miles and Norwell both came through the academy at Bristol, with Norwell having spent eight years with the county and having taken 283 wickets across all formats since debuting in 2011.
Gloucestershire, understandably, may well be aggrieved at losing two academy-trained players and although Norwell had conflicting thoughts about leaving, insists he’s made the right decision.
“It all became real when I started looking around and clubs put 28 days on me – that’s when it became quite hard,” said the Dorset-born paceman.
“Gloucestershire gave me a lot of opportunities – I’d never really played any representative cricket and they saw me and liked me and I can’t thank them enough.
