This one hurt.
The Giants wrote a new script on losing this year, losing a back and forth battle against the hated Dallas Cowboys by a score of 3734. But the bottom line is, that it is really the same old script.
The Giants just don’t know how to win, and until this team learns what it takes to win close battles — play complementary football and stop killing themselves with key mistakes — it will continue to be the same old story week after week.
After scoring a NFL-low 47 points through the first four weeks, the Giants put up a 34 spot on the inept Dallas defense and it still wasn’t enough. Heck, their 20 first-half points were more than they scored in any full game up until that point. They had not even held a lead since opening game, so they had to win this one, right?
Nope.
“This one hurts because we feel like we could have won that one,” Logan Ryan said. “We didn’t play well enough to win.”
Ryan knows what winning looks like, winning Super Bowls with New England and playing in the AFC Championship game last season with Tennessee.
“The turnovers, the bad penalties, and the bad defense before the half and at the end of game, we have to execute better.”
