The entire country is experiencing a lull with the recent demonetization movement. But here in Goa in spite of the grey times with the economy, the season seems to have kicked in with a bang… and December looks promising. We’ve checked all the hottest venues and the most intriguing establishments to bring you our top list for how to spend your December in Goa once the kids are in bed and you’re out on the town.
Live Music
FOR an intimate evening with friends and family or date night with your special significant other, what better than to enjoy the soothing sounds of acoustic music and dive into some tasty cuisine.
On the way from Chapora to Siolim we discovered a sweet local joint called Eldous; known for their delicious fish thali and Goan cuisine accompanied by Feni cocktails, this humble little space hosts some of Goa’s most treasured musicians on Saturdays. There’s something so simple and cute in the way the non-pretentious décor makes you feel, like you’re at someone’s home rather than out and about. For sausage lovers, do try the Chorizo Pao… it’s a definite winner on this side of town.
Over in Arambol, there are many spaces for live music, but one that really caught our attention was Fellini’s. Famous for their delicious authentic Italian food and thin crust pizza, be sure to hear some very talented collaborations between local musicians and international travelling artists; a great place to kick your shoes off, step back in time and unwind. Crossing the bridge back to Anjuna, we take you to the famous Guru Bar. Now this is definitely one of the oldest venues to host bands and the location being spot on the Anjuna beach is a great setting for listening to some tunes whilst watching the waves roll in and out.
