Many of Quark's passengers have demonstrated their photographic prowess in the polar environment by clicking pictures of expansive icebergs, wildlife encounters and even underwater marine life.
Polar photographers must deal with intense cold, snow, salty ocean water and condensation, all of which can seriously harm equipment if photographers aren’t cautious.
Therefore, adventurers use a certain set of camera gear when photographing in adventurous and extreme locations.
Types of Cameras to Use
Some of the types of cameras available and suitable for adventurers are –
• Compact Digital Cameras: These are the most user-friendly digital cameras, also referred to as “point and shoot” cameras. They are compact, lightweight and robust but lack the sophistication of multi-part cameras with higher-quality optics.
• DSLR: DSLRs are preferred by professional photographers because of their sharp pictures, flexible settings and interchangeable lenses. Compact DSLRs with an internal mirror removed are referred to as “mirrorless” cameras because of their lighter weight and continued ability to produce high-quality pictures.
• POV Action Camera: POV action cameras are robust and functional, and they are compact enough to be carried around in your purse or in the palm of your hand. Although they are excellent for recording motion, they do have some drawbacks, including a limited zoom, fixed focus, a small viewfinder and limited customisation of settings.
