Famous Mexican architect Luis Barragan loved colour on a grand scale. In fact, his work was all about cobalt blues, summer yellows, sunset pinks and more, in gigantic proportions and fascinating forms, brought together perfectly with the use of angles and light. When you step into architect couple, Neha Bhardwaj and Gaurav Kapoor’s 1,870 sq. ft. abode, you wonder if Barragan managed to leave his footprints in this Greater Noida apartment as well.

Turns out, he did: “Barragan used a lot of colour in his projects and, for this house, a large amount of inspiration came from his works,” says one half of the couple, Neha. “We love using colour fearlessly in our projects at work and when we got an opportunity to work on our home, we ended up using 19 diff erent shades of paint!” she laughs. Well, this philosophy of treating design as a way of life is certainly what ties their home and work.
