For 15 years she’s been part of Three’s West family – first as the surly Loretta in Outrageous Fortune, then as sharp-tongued Rita in Westside. As the series draws to a close, the Weekly discovers that Antonia Prebble, the actress who brought these two complex characters to life, is as sad about saying goodbye as viewers are. She’ll always have a special connection, though – next year she’s marrying her co-star Dan Musgrove and the couple have a son together, 16-month-old Freddie.
How did it feel to say goodbye to the Wests?
It’s crazy, that’s a big chunk of my life! It’s been bittersweet because I miss it but at the same time, I feel it ended when it should have. And it was great that we ended on our own terms, meaning the creative decided that the sixth season would be the last, as opposed to just not getting funding for the next season. We were able to give the characters the send-off they deserved and we as a team could get the closure we needed because we knew we were saying goodbye for the last time.
