Eighteen months ago, Kiwi actress Angela Bloomfield decided she needed a change in her life and after years of toying with the idea of becoming a real estate agent, she finally took the leap. Today, the former Shortland Street star describes it as one of the best decisions she’s ever made.
“It suits my personality,” the 48-year-old shares. “It allows me to be me. I know that sounds like an absurd thing to say, but I spent 25 years pretending to be other people, so I felt like this is me being my best self.”
Not only has Angela started an exciting new career, but she’s also found a lifelong friend in her mentor and boss Lauren Mirabito, who is also one of the new judges on Three’s The Block NZ. The pair immediately clicked when they met and their bond was only strengthened when Angela told Lauren about her upcoming stint on Celebrity Treasure Island.
“I wasn’t meant to talk about it, but I had to tell Lauren, she’s my boss,” tells Angela. “So when she confided that she was going to be doing something that was hush-hush as well, there was a shared secret.”
Lauren adds, “We’d head into the boardroom, shut the door, and talk about it quietly.”
