How He Found Success After a Little Life Improvement

He’s one of Hollywood’s most familiar faces thanks to regular family-friendly roles in his TV series Home Improvement and movies such as The Santa Clause and, of course, as Toy Story’s Buzz Lightyear.

But Tim Allen’s Tinseltown journey has been anything but smooth and, at times, anything but PG, with legal battles, jail time and family tragedy.

There was the two-and-a-half-years he spent in prison following felony cocaine possession, and the DUI charge which led to a rehab stint. But these days – and at 21 years sober − the reclusive funnyman says life has calmed down to the point where he’s finally able to enjoy the spoils of his success.

Giving a rare interview to mark the release of Toy Story 4, Tim, who lives in Los Angeles with his wife Jane Hajduk (52) and their 10-year-old daughter Elizabeth (he has another daughter, 29-year-old Katherine from his first marriage), says he’s a “pretty private guy” who loves theatre and golf.
