To use a phrase with which her ex-husband is very familiar, Louise Redknapp’s life is very much ‘a game of two halves’ these days.
On one hand, she is back doing what she loves – performing nightly on stage as she tours the country, playing to packed theatres. But at the same time, she is living with daily reminders of the love she has lost: her ex Jamie, coupled up with a Swedish model who will soon give birth to his son.
Small wonder the 46-year-old beauty is thought to be struggling to make sense of her life these days, juggling her work as an actor and singer with parenting the two boys she shares with Jamie – Charley, 17, and Beau, 12.
‘Instead of coming home to her husband after a tough week on the road, Lou is being met by her mum, who’s helping look after the boys while she works,’ says a close friend. ‘This wasn’t how she saw her life turned out when she was younger.
‘That’s hard enough, but to know that Jamie has moved on so quickly is the real killer. Lou always knew there’d be plenty of women chasing him – he’s a good-looking guy and a great dad – but it never occurred to her that he’d be having another baby at 48.
‘Seeing the pictures of Jamie and his new girlfriend on social media, looking forward to having a son together – that’s a real kick in the stomach. It would be for anyone.’
