LOW SELF-ESTEEM will always be in my DNA

It might seem that Kate Ferdinand has the perfect life, with a figure to die for, a big house and a new family in the shape of husband Rio Ferdinand and three wonderful stepchildren, Lorenz, 13, Tate, 11, and eight-year-old Tia, who all adore her.

But life hasn’t always been so good for the 28-year-old former TOWIE star, as she’s endured body dysmorphia, anxiety, and panic attacks – as well as suffering from hair loss since she was a teenager.

Kate has revealed how, at around the age of 14, she was convinced she was overweight and began dieting and exercising to the point of obsession.

‘I have an obsessive personality and it did become an obsession,’ she said.

‘You name it, I tried it. I’d get my mum to buy all the slimming stuff, but I’d never stick at it and I’d go on a binge instead.

‘I thought going to the gym 24/7 would make me feel a lot better, but it actually didn’t – it was making me feel worse because of the pressure I was putting on myself and my weight just yo-yoed.’
