A medical expert has suggested that arguments should be banned this Christmas because raised voices could spread coronavirus. I laughed out loud when I read this. Then I had a row with my other half. ‘We can’t go a Christmas without having an argument.’ ‘Yes, we can.’ ‘No, we can’t.’

Statistician Sir David Spiegelhalter raised this idea – all that intelligence, but he clearly hasn’t figured out that most of us will already have started rowing. How do you decide who to invite to a three-family Christmas Day without arguing?
